I can't think of any advantages to living alone, except total
freedom to....uh....well. to pass gas freely when needed and
without waiting to be alone. I guess to eat what I want when

much more variety in my meals, and that's just not gonna
happen without others living here. There is not much
advantage living alone, emotionally-wise. And Love is the

from siblings and nieces and nephews and my dearest ol
Dad. But it's not the same as havind a soulmate, someone
who you could share everything with, good or bad, and
knowing for sure that we have each others back, no matter
what.
I had that once, but fate deals cruel blows sometimes.

at least no dependents will be left in an economic lurch, but
obviously you lose all control of the dispensation of your belongings.
and your reputation will be what those you leave behind want it to
be.

the default is that you will be forgotten. i think, among others, of
the author iris chang, who shocked the literary world by shooting
herself at age 36 in 2004. who remembers her now? nobody.

it's left only to a few like lincoln, jesus, muhammad, einstein to
last longer than the next day's newspaper.
